How does it work?

The FairChance program consists of four challenges, each supported by bite-sized educational videos to help you develop key life skills that future employers are looking for.

Take part in the four challenges using the Goodwall app where you can get inspired by other participants and earn cash rewards along the way! Each challenge is live for exactly one week, so make sure to check the app weekly so you don’t miss out!

By completing all four challenges, you’ll gain powerful tools to stand out in the job market while discovering your individual strengths and aspirations.

Your journey starts with the #IAm challenge. In all challenges you’ll receive videos and/or PDF’s to boost your life skills. After each challenge you’ll be sent a quiz and invited to join the next challenges. What is FairChance Uganda?

FairChance Uganda is an innovative program that aims to empower young with physical disabilities to succeed in job interviews through a unique upskilling pathway based on life skills.

This program is testing a triangular partnership model involving Yoma leading the co-design, with employers supporting to shape the upskilling pathway and NGOs amplifying the reach of the program to young people in Uganda with physical disabilities.

It offers four challenges to enhance life skills and foster personal and professional growth. This transformative initiative aims to shape a more inclusive and diverse workforce while building a community of young people who truly feel confident and ready to enter the job market.

How much does it cost?

The FairChance Uganda program is completely free.

How long does the program run?

The FairChance Uganda program runs from May 10th to June 10th, 2024.

What’s the benefit of participating via Goodwall?

Participants that download Goodwall will also benefit from Goodwall's current and future activities, such as learning-to-earning programs and weekly challenges with more prizes.

What is the program prize?

All challenges will reward $50 for 20 winners each. Finalists will also be connected to further learning-to-earning opportunities.

How are the winners selected? What are the criteria?

The winners will be selected manually at the end of the program by our jury. The selection criteria will be included in the instructions of each challenge. Uploading a video and responding to the quiz is mandatory for all challenges.

When will the winners be announced?

The winners will be announced on the Goodwall app 2-3 weeks after the program ends.

How can I participate?

Start by clicking on the "Join the Program" or "Take part!" buttons on this website. Then, download the Goodwall app (available for iOS and Android). Once you have set up your Goodwall profile, upload your entry as a video or photo on the challenge page. You can also participate on your computer if you are unable to download the app.

After the first challenge, how will I unlock the next challenges?

Each challenge will be live for a week and you will be notified when the next challenge becomes available.

On Goodwall, where can I see the challenges?

The challenges are private, so you’ll be able to access them through your profile once you’ve clicked on the link we send you via DM.

Can I join at any point during the program?

Yes, you are welcome to participate at any point during the program, but each challenge is available for one week only. Only participants who complete all four challenges will be eligible to job opportunities.

Who can participate?

We welcome participants with physical disabilities between 18 and 26 years of age from all over Uganda!

How will I receive my prize if I win?

A Goodwall Community Manager will contact you soon after winning to arrange prize delivery.
